Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters. This policy explains how ColorBooth collects, uses, and protects your information — in plain language.

Effective May 18, 2026

Who We Are

ColorBooth is an AI-powered service that turns family photos into printable coloring pages. We operate at colorbooth.app. If you have any questions about this policy, you can reach us at hello@colorbooth.app.

Information We Collect

Account information

When you sign up, we collect your email address. If you use Google sign-in, we also receive your name and profile picture from Google. If you use magic link email, we only receive the email address you provide. This is managed by our authentication provider, Supabase.

Photos you upload

We temporarily process your photo to generate a coloring page. Your original photo is deleted from our servers the moment your coloring page is ready. If you upload a photo before signing in, we store it temporarily (up to 1 hour) so we can create your coloring page after you sign in. Unused uploads are automatically deleted after 1 hour. We never store original photos permanently.

Coloring pages

Generated coloring pages are stored in your private gallery until you choose to delete them. Only you can access your gallery.

Payment information

Payments are processed entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number, CVV, or billing details. Stripe handles everything securely.

Usage data

We use PostHog for product analytics — to understand how people interact with ColorBooth and improve it. PostHog receives your user ID, page or screen views, button interactions, and app usage events. PostHog acts as a data processor on our behalf and does not use this data to track you across other apps or websites.

On the web, we also use Meta Pixel for advertising measurement. Meta Pixel is not used in our iOS app — see the iOS App section below.

How We Use Your Information

  • To provide the service — generating coloring pages, maintaining your gallery, managing your account
  • To process payments — credit purchases via Stripe
  • To communicate with you — account-related emails only (no marketing spam)
  • To improve the service — aggregated, anonymized analytics
  • To measure advertising — understanding how people discover ColorBooth

Photo Privacy

Your original photo is stored only long enough to create your coloring page, then deleted from our servers. We use Google's paid Gemini API to process the image.

  • Your original photo is deleted immediately after your coloring page is generated (or within 1 hour if uploaded before signing in)
  • Your photos are never shared with third parties for their own purposes
  • You can permanently delete any coloring page from your gallery at any time

Third-Party Services

We use the following services to operate ColorBooth. Each has their own privacy policy governing how they handle data:

Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage
Google Gemini API— AI image processing (server-side only; on our paid tier, submitted content is not used to improve Google's products)
Stripe — payment processing (PCI DSS compliant)
Apple — Sign in with Apple and iOS in-app purchase processing
RevenueCat — iOS subscription, paywall, restore, and entitlement management
Vercel — hosting and serverless functions
PostHog — product analytics (web and iOS app), acting as a data processor. Does not use ColorBooth data to track you across other apps or websites.
Meta Pixel — advertising measurement (web only — not used in the iOS app)
Facebook SDK — iOS aggregated event measurement and ad attribution, with advertiser ID collection disabled

Cookies & Tracking

ColorBooth uses cookies to keep you logged in and to understand how the service is used. Here's what we use:

Essential cookies

Supabase authentication session cookies. These are required for login to work and cannot be disabled.

Analytics cookies

PostHog cookies help us understand how people use ColorBooth — which features are popular, where people get stuck, and how we can improve.

Advertising cookies

Meta Pixel cookies help us measure whether our ads are reaching the right people. We do not sell your data or build advertising profiles.

iOS App

The ColorBooth iOS app uses the same Supabase account, private gallery, and credit balance as the web service. The photo-handling and gallery retention practices described above apply equally to the iOS app. Account sign-in and payments work differently in the app:

  • Sign-in uses Sign in with Apple or Google sign-in; magic-link email sign-in is web-only.
  • iOS payments are processed through Apple in-app purchases and RevenueCat, not Stripe. We receive subscription and entitlement records needed to grant credits and manage access; Apple and RevenueCat handle payment details.

What the iOS app collects

In addition to the account and photo data described above, the iOS app sends product analytics events to PostHog. These include:

  • Your user ID (so events can be tied to your account)
  • Screen views — which screens you visit in the app
  • Button interactions and other taps that help us understand how the app is used
  • App usage events — e.g. generations started, generations completed, errors encountered
  • Basic device and app context automatically collected by PostHog, such as app version, OS version, and device model

No advertising tracking

The ColorBooth iOS app does not track you for advertising purposes, as defined by Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework. Specifically, the iOS app:

  • Does not include Meta Pixel in the iOS app
  • Does not request your IDFA (Identifier for Advertisers) or display an ATT prompt
  • Uses Facebook SDK app events only for aggregated event measurement and ad attribution, with advertiser ID collection disabled
  • Does not share your data with third parties for their own advertising or marketing
  • Does not link the data we collect with data about you from other companies' apps or websites for advertising purposes

Data collected through PostHog is used only to operate and improve ColorBooth, and is not used to track you across other apps or websites owned by other companies.

Children's Privacy

ColorBooth is a service for adults — specifically parents, guardians, and educators. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use the service.

We understand that the coloring pages often feature children. Photos of children are processed transiently — your original photo is deleted immediately after generation. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

If you believe someone under 18 has created an account or provided personal information, please contact us at hello@colorbooth.app and we will delete it immediately.

Your Rights

You have control over your data. Here's what you can do:

  • Access — request a copy of your data by emailing us
  • Deletion — delete coloring pages from your gallery, or request full account deletion
  • Portability — download your coloring pages at any time
  • Correction — update your account information through your profile

If you're in the EU, you also have the right to object to processing, restrict processing, and lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. If you're in California, you have the right to know what data we collect and to request deletion. We do not sell personal information.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@colorbooth.app.

Data Retention

Original photos — deleted immediately after coloring page generation, or within 1 hour if uploaded before signing in
Coloring pages — retained until you delete them or your account is deleted
Account data — retained until you request account deletion
Payment records— retained as required by law and Stripe's policies

Data Security

We protect your data with industry-standard security measures:

  • All data is transmitted over HTTPS (encrypted in transit)
  • Database security ensures you can only access your own data
  • API keys are kept server-side only — never exposed to your browser
  • We never store passwords — authentication uses Google sign-in and magic links

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you by email or through a notice on the site. Your continued use of ColorBooth after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
